london line diary

Waiting for bus > Being on bus > Phone box
Walking down street > Phone box > Walking down street
Carriage folk > Escalator > Way out

This was an idea on how to record daily life without using words. Using an original photograph, a tablet and Photoshop, I sketched out the basic outline of the images and merged them all together to create one flowing composition.

FATFONTS typeface

Typeface made out of gum strip paper with holes cut out then scanned in to Photoshop. I've gone as far as saving them as individual files so they can be quickly imported in to other documents, but I haven't got round to actually assigning them to a keyboard.

I like the original brown but I have experimented with changing the colours, whilst keeping the texture and gradient of the paper.

GASH work

I was given the word 'play' and asked to visually explore its different connotations. I decided to look past the obvious ideas of children and toys, but instead to look at a slightly darker meaning. I wanted to explore the word in the context of mentally playing, not physical playing. Then after looking in to synonyms such as 'game', 'risk' and 'gamble', I came up with the phrase 'trick of the mind'.

This piece uses different materials and techniques, again relating experimentation to the theme. Using brown manilla paper as a background and acetate film layering makes it look more interesting and creates some distortion, then combined with sharp stamped lettering and digital print outs.

This is GASH

i thought this was quite nice.

Procrastination Station

Well today i am supposed to have one of those productive days -
waking up at a HALF DECENT hour
having a nice 'hearty' breakfast (porridge for example)
have a shower
have one of those 'wow i'm not a lazy shit after all' moments
crack on with work
maybe watch This Morning
maybe go for a walk.

INSTEAD......

woke up hungover at 10
thought 'fuck it' and went back to sleep til 12.30 (missed This Morning - gutted)
ponced around on facebook
ponced around on ebay
ponced around...with everything
'oh whats this, time for a lager you say?'

done.
